How To Become A Volunteer at

Mildred Mitchell-Bateman Hospital

 

 

1.  A Personal Interview is required with the Director of Volunteer Services.

 

             At the first interview session the following topics are discussed:

              your interest, qualifications, skills, previous work experiences; history and

              goals of the hospital; policies, practices and procedures concerning volunteers

              working with patients and staff; possible volunteer opportunities and job  

              descriptions; patients rights and confidentiality.

 

The volunteer will complete a volunteer application and skills checklist and sign a

               confidentiality form.

 

2.            At the second interview session:

               tours of areas of possible assignment;

               introductions to Unit of department staff and discussion of suggested

               volunteer activities.

               volunteer will receive a copy of the Volunteer Services Handbook; discuss  

               information about working with patients and further procedures and  guidelines

               about working with patients and further procedures and

               assignment of a service area and schedule; receive a Volunteer ID badge
